Counselling and Diverse Learning Needs (CDLearN)
“Empowering students to overcome challenges, embrace diversity and succeed academically and personally.”
The Counselling and Diverse Learning Needs (CDLearN) unit at UBD is dedicated to supporting students with diverse learning needs, ensuring they have equal access to education and pathways to successful employment. Established in 2010, CDLearN promotes inclusive education through tailored services from admission to employment, in line with Brunei Darussalam’s commitment to accessibility in higher education.
In 2015, the office expanded to include counselling services, now offering two main areas of support:
1. Counselling Services: Providing emotional and mental health support to help students manage personal and academic challenges.
2. Diverse Learning Needs Services: Offering specialised resources and support for students with learning needs to thrive academically and beyond.
CDLearN not only supports UBD students but also serves as a model for inclusive practices, encouraging similar services in other institutions across Brunei.
